Business Coaching

What is coaching?
The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as "partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential".

What is a coach?
A coach is a person who works with you to gain clarity about what you want in life, to set specific goals and identify the gap between where you are now and where you want to be.
The coach will support you to
develop strategies to bridge the gap and overcome challenges you may face.
A coach will act as an objective sounding board
, providing a different perspective. S/he will  reflect your thoughts - thus enabling you to discover solutions to seemingly impossible problems.
A coach believes in you and is committed to
your success.

What is business coaching?
The terms coach & coaching have been applied for quite a few professions & activities:
The world seems to be full of Life Coaches who support you with working on issues of your private life,  and Sports coaches who support you in running a marathon etc.
In business coaching, client and coach work on
areas closely connected with your working context.

  • Sytemic business coaching is always based on a thorough needs-analysis.

  • Business Coaching is systemic because it takes a look at the entire system a person is working and living in - now one is an island.

  • Business coaching is oriented towards working on a solution, it has a clear start - and a clearly defined ending.

Typical topics for business coaching are ....

  • Upcoming professional changes

  • Working in international teams - incl. virtual teams

  • Cross cultural coaching as a means of support in a new environment

  • Self-image & public image: Discovering blind spots

  • More of the same didn't get you where you would like to be? Reflection of alternatives & of scope of action

  • Why don't I get on with a colleague/ the person I am reporting to / the person reporting to me / my team? Analysis of own values and those of my environment

  • Analysis & solution of conflicts

... Business Coaching is not ....

It isn't  therapy or counselling.
It isn't consulting or getting advice.
It isn't training.
It isn't mentoring.

... but there could be overlap areas
